The Committee on Education moved to amend the bill on page four, section ten, line fifty-seven, after the word “mathematics”, by inserting the words “that requires targeted and/or intensive intervention”;

On page four, section ten, line fifty-eight, by striking out the words “no later than 15 days after the identification of the deficiency” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “by the end of the next regularly scheduled grading period”;

On page four, section ten, line seventy-four, after the word “for”, by inserting the word “prekindergarten,”;

On page nine, section ten, lines one hundred eighty-one through one hundred eighty-four, by striking out all of subdivision (5) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subdivision (5), to read as follows:

(5) A student who demonstrates competency in classwork but has difficulty with assessments.;

On page nine, section ten, line one hundred ninety-one, by striking out the word “required” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “strongly encouraged”;

And,

On page nine, section ten, line one hundred ninety-seven, after the word “Assessment” by inserting the words “or is measured to be proficient and competent on grade-level standards, by the student’s teacher.
